This Sunday, the Diocese of St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands joins Catholics worldwide in celebrating World Mission Sunday.
Established by Pope Pius XI, this day is a unique opportunity for us to look beyond our own shores and support the youngest and most vulnerable dioceses in the missions. The funds collected today go directly to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, supporting the building of health clinics, schools, and parishes in mission territories.
However, Mission Sunday is about more than just a collection; it is about our identity. As a vibrant community in the Virgin Islands, we are called to be "missionary disciples" right here at home — in our workplaces, our schools, and our neighborhoods across St. Thomas, St. Croix, and St. John.
We invite you to pray fervently for all missionaries and to be generous in the special second collection, helping the Church reach "the ends of the earth."
Please consult your local parish bulletin for more information on how your contributions support the global mission of the Church.
